Hi, I’m Jenny. If I could tell you one thing about myself, it’s that I’m passionate about being passionate. 

My passions have driven me to create an online retail business at the age of 16, appear in a music video as a part of a show I produced, and set a new Guinness World Records title – all vastly different things, I know. There’s more I got to do: I produced shows, saw campaigns I created trend worldwide on Twitter, and had conversations with artists I grew up listening to.

Being someone who grew up in a small factory town in the once-poorest province in China, I never fathomed my passions could take me to all parts of the world. I think Team B’s “Climax” sums it up much more eloquently than I can: “Right now, in hopes to see that ray of light / I bet my future.”

I lead the short-form team at Rakuten Viki, producing a pipeline of original content that grows users both on app and web in key markets, including APAC and North America.

Soompi is the world’s largest and longest-running community specializing in Asian entertainment, acquired by Rakuten Viki in 2015. Through my last 8 years at Soompi, I have played the role of a Swiss Army knife, helping Soompi grow into the largest social platform for fans of Korean entertainment through hands-on development of new content, viral marketing, tentpole initiatives and strategic partnerships.

At the age of 16, I created a five-figure direct-to-consumer beauty and lifestyle e-commerce shopping site, which was featured as Miiduu’s #1 store in “Grocery, Health & Beauty” category between the years of 2011 and 2013.
